Lookout Housing and Health Society Full Time - Permanent We provide housing and a range of support services to adults with low or no income who have few, if any, housing or support options. Monday through Friday Shift times will be 1000 - 1800 Hours Shifts are 8 hours in length The Cook reports to the Site Manager and works in accordance with the mission and philosophy of Lookout Housing and Health Society including following Lookout’s Code of Ethics. The Cook prepares, cooks, and serves daily meals and is responsible for ensuring availability of food and beverages for guests.

This position requires successful completion of respirator fit testing, as Lookout is COR (Certificate of Recognition) certified and must comply with WorkSafeBC health and safety requirements. To ensure a proper respirator seal during fit testing and use, employees are required to be clean-shaven where the respirator seals against the face. Prepare, cook, and serve daily meals,



snacks and beverages Ensure availability of food for guests after hours Maintain high standard of cleanliness throughout kitchen, dining, storage areas and equipment Work with and oversee kitchen volunteers Sleeping during shifts is not permitted. or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience Must have current Occupational First Aid Level 1 and FOODSAFE Certificate from the Department of Health Experience with institutions or large organizations including experience with cost analysis and effectiveness Experience in menu planning and developing order supply lists Crisis Intervention Skills Training is an asset Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing Ability to work with disadvantaged and challenging adults in a diverse workplace Criminal Record Clearance – Vulnerable Sector
