The opportunity

Join our team at the YMCA of Simcoe Muskoka in Innisfil as the Coordinator of Fitness and Individual Conditioning. You will be responsible for ensuring a safe environment and delivering quality, values-based programming and services to adults, youth and families. In this role, you will: Serve and prioritize the needs of members, facility users, and program participants

Ensure compliance with relevant provincial and federal legislation

Proactively build positive relationships with members, participants, staff, and volunteers

Foster personal growth, engagement, commitment, and goal achievement for all stakeholders

Manage retention data to enhance member connection and commitment

Deliver on-floor program instruction for an average of 30 hours per week, including group fitness classes and individual consultations

Assist in developing and managing the annual budget, meeting contribution target

Recruit, train, schedule, and evaluate staff and volunteers

Conduct annual evaluations and development workshops to maintain instruction quality

Collaborate with senior staff to ensure a positive YMCA experience for all members

Create social interaction opportunities for members

Foster open and positive communication among participants, volunteers, and staff

Communicate information positively, clearly and promptly with colleagues and membership service staff

Respond to all calls within 24 hours during the workweek

Act as assigned Manager on Duty

Adhere to YMCA standards, policies, best practices, protocols, and regulations Ensure safety and security, including incident reporting

Address member concerns in a helpful and positive manner

Coordinate with YMCA staff and volunteers for uninterrupted program delivery

Maintain qualifications as required for the position You bring: Degree or Diploma in a relevant discipline (i.e. Recreation, Physical Education, Customer Relations, Fitness Development, Kinesiology), or equivalent related experience

Basic Theory, Adult Engagement and appropriate Group Fitness Certifications

Standard First Aid/CPR Certification ‘C’

Individual Conditioning 1, & 2 required (or equivalent certification) Individual Conditioning 3 is considered an asset





Healthy Adolescent Development training an asset Minimum 2 years’ experience working with Adults in a program delivery environment

Minimum 1 year experience working with Youth in a program delivery environment an asset

Minimum of 1 year experience Unison transactions is an asset

Must be able to work flexible hours based on client and centre needs Willingness to participate in and maintain mandated training to be completed before or shortly after commencement of work including: AODA Training

Bill 168 (Violence & Harassment in the Workplace) Training
