Salary Range:

The salary range for this position is $66,000 to $91,000 . The final offer will be determined based on the successful candidate’s skills, experience, and internal equity considerations. Please note that the offer may fall anywhere within the posted range and is not necessarily at the top end.

Overview: This position is responsible for supporting the corporate health and safety program and other occupational health and safety services corporately. This position will work with the Director, People and project safety advisors to provide consistent services and support a strong safety culture across the organization.

Key Accountabilities:

- Support the organization’s Occupational Health & Safety (OHS)



program in alignment with WorkSafeBC regulations and applicable legislation. Support organizational adherence to WorkSafeBC requirements and other relevant provincial and federal safety regulations and act as a liaison when required.
- Ensure policies, procedures, safe work practices, and incidents are documented, up to date, communicated, and consistently applied across the organization when required.
- Ensure compliance through audits and other reporting mechanisms as necessary.
- Support organizational adherence to WorkSafeBC requirements and other relevant provincial and federal safety regulations and act as a liaison when required.
- When required, support OHS activities across all office locations, working in close coordination with associated Office Managers and the Facilities team.
- Support incident investigations and root cause analyses; track corrective actions and data for trends and analysis; support the Director in reporting to all staff, leadership and executive on a regularly scheduled basis.
- Support the Joint Occupational Health & Safety (JOHS) Committees across offices. This includes providing guidance and training to committee members; ensuring meetings are attended, regularly scheduled, effective, and appropriately reported and documented; and safety recommendations brought to the employer representative are timely, thoughtfully communicated and clear, in alignment with WorkSafeBC regulations and applicable legislation.
- Implement a regular schedule for conducting workplace hazard assessments, job hazard analyses, and risk evaluations across office locations. Conduct ergonomic assessments and ensure recommendations are implemented, as and when required.
- Responsible for OHS onboarding and orientation including, providing and tracking training for new employees.
- Support the development and delivery of ongoing safety training programs (e.g., emergency response, ergonomics, violence prevention) and corporate safety initiatives such as First Aid Attendance and Fire Warden training etc.
- Support the Director in promoting a proactive safety culture aligned with organizational values.




- Support coordination of response efforts during business disruptions or emergencies and emergency preparedness planning (evacuation procedures, drills and crisis response protocols) in collaboration with the Facilities team.
- Track and identify safety trends and metrics and recommend improvements to reduce risk and improve workplace safety.

Qualifications:

- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, Human Resources, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in an Occupational Health & Safety role, preferably in a multi-site environment
- Working knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations, policies, and reporting requirements
- Experience supporting Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committees
- Professional designation or working towards one is an asset (e.g., CRSP – Canadian Registered Safety Professional, NCSO – National Construction Safety Officer)
- Demonstrated experience in:
- Developing and implementing OHS programs and policies
- Conducting incident investigations and risk assessments
- Delivering training and facilitating safety meetings
- Supporting audits and regulatory inspections
- Experience with business continuity planning and emergency management frameworks is an asset
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships across all levels of the organization
- Ability to work independently while managing competing priorities across multiple locations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety reporting systems
