Crew Foreman

Blackstone Builders is looking for an experienced Crew Foreman to join our construction team. We specialize in post-frame buildings, shops, agricultural buildings, commercial projects, renovations, and custom construction throughout Central Alberta and surrounding areas.
We are looking for someone who is comfortable leading a crew while also working alongside them on site. The successful candidate will be responsible for keeping projects organized, productive, safe, and moving according to schedule.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a construction crew on active job sites
- Work hands-on alongside the crew with framing, exterior finishing, cladding, roofing, and general construction
- Review drawings and plans and communicate project requirements to the crew
- Coordinate daily tasks and ensure work is completed efficiently
- Monitor workmanship and maintain Blackstone Builders' quality standards
- Track project progress and communicate regularly with management
- Coordinate materials, tools, equipment, and deliveries
- Identify potential delays or project issues before they become larger problems
- Maintain an organized and safe job site
- Enforce company safety procedures and safe work practices
- Complete daily timekeeping and basic job-site documentation
- Help train and mentor apprentices and less-experienced employees
- Ensure company tools, equipment, vehicles, and materials are properly cared for
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of construction experience preferred
- Previous experience leading or supervising a construction crew
- Strong framing and general carpentry experience
- Experience with post-frame, agricultural, commercial, or wood-frame construction is considered an asset
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings
- Solid organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage employees while maintaining a productive and respectful work environment
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence and reliable transportation
- Comfortable operating construction equipment and tools
- Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Physically capable of performing construction work
- Must be dependable, punctual, and able to take ownership of projects
- Must be willing to travel and work out of town when required

Schedule
- Monday to Thursday - 7am - 5pm
- Approximately 40–50 hours per week depending on project requirements
- Some overtime may be required
- Out-of-town work may occasionally be required
