Role Description

This is a hands-on operations role. You'll be the link between our drivers on the road, our shippers and receivers, and our leadership team. What you'll do

Dispatch

- Plan, assign, and dispatch daily loads across our cross-border fleet — optimizing routes, minimizing deadhead, and maximizing truck utilization
- Coordinate driver schedules, hours of service compliance, and pickup/delivery appointments
- Manage real-time communication with drivers, resolving issues on the road (delays, breakdowns, weather, border hold-ups)
- Handle cross-border logistics — ensure customs documentation, FAST/PARS/PAPS paperwork, and border compliance are complete before trucks reach the crossing
- Source backhaul loads from load boards and broker contacts to minimize empty miles
- rack and report on fleet performance: on-time delivery, utilization rates, and cost per mile
- Coordinate with maintenance on truck availability and scheduling preventive maintenance windows

What we're looking for





- Proven experience in reefer / temperature-controlled freight dispatch — cross-border experience is a must
- Hands-on proficiency with DAT-ONE for load sourcing and market analysis
- Working knowledge of FAST, PARS, PAPS, ACE/ACI, and Canada–US customs/border procedures
- Familiarity with ELD/HOS regulations in both Canada and the United States
- Demonstrated ability to develop new shipper accounts and grow revenue
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills — you're comfortable talking to both drivers and C-suite contacts
- Strong problem-solving under pressure — things go wrong on the road and you need to fix them in real time
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, 24/7 operations environment
- Based in Ontario; this is an in office role
