Customer Service & Hospitality Representative
Point S Autotown – Calgary, AB
About the Role
We're looking for an energetic, outgoing and genuinely friendly person to join the team at Point S Autotown in Calgary.
This isn't your typical customer service job, and you don't need to be an automotive expert to be great at it.
We're an automotive repair and tire shop, but at the heart of our business is hospitality. We want every person who walks through our doors or calls our store to feel welcomed, appreciated and looked after.
We're looking for someone who naturally enjoys people. Someone who brings positive energy to work, isn't afraid to start a conversation, notices when a customer needs help, and is willing to jump in wherever they're needed.
If you've worked in a restaurant, hotel, retail store, coffee shop, reception role or another customer-facing environment, your skills may translate extremely well to this position. If you're newer to the workforce but you're dependable, confident, eager to learn and excellent with people, we'd like to hear from you too.
Automotive or tire experience is an asset, but it is absolutely not required. We can teach you about cars. We're much more interested in finding someone with the right attitude, work ethic and personality.
What You'll Do
You'll be part of the front-of-house team and help us deliver an exceptional experience from the moment a customer contacts us until the moment they get their keys back.
Your day could include
- Greeting customers and making them feel welcome when they arrive
- Answering incoming phone calls in a friendly and professional manner
- Helping customers book appointments and answering basic questions
- Following up with customers by phone, text or email
- Helping keep our waiting area, showroom and front counter clean, organized and inviting
- Driving customers home, to work or back to the shop when required
- Picking up parts and supplies from local vendors
- Helping move or organize customer vehicles when required
- Assisting with basic vehicle cleaning or detailing when needed
- Learning our automotive software and customer management systems
- Helping the service team communicate with customers throughout the day
- Learning about tires, wheels, automotive maintenance and repair
- Helping customers understand the products and services we offer
- Supporting our team wherever an extra set of hands is needed
- Finding small ways to make a customer's visit better
This is a hands-on role. Some moments will be spent at the front counter or on the phone, while others might have you running across town for a part, giving a customer a ride, helping clean up the showroom or learning something new in the shop.
Who We're Looking For
Experience matters less to us than the person.
You'll probably be a great fit if you:
- Are naturally friendly, positive and comfortable talking to people
- Enjoy making people feel welcome and taken care of
- Bring energy and enthusiasm to work
- Communicate clearly and confidently in person and over the phone
- Are dependable and show up ready to contribute
- Don't mind jumping in and helping with whatever needs to get done
- Can stay upbeat and organized when things get busy
- Are comfortable working around cars, tires, tools and a busy automotive shop
- Are willing to learn and take coaching
- Take pride in keeping your workplace clean and presentable
- Enjoy being part of a team
- Want an opportunity to learn new skills and grow with a company
You do not need to know the difference between a control arm and a tie rod before you start. We'll teach you. What we can't teach nearly as easily is genuine enthusiasm for helping people.
Requirements
- Valid driver's licence and ability to safely operate customer and company vehicles
- Comfortable communicating with customers in person and by phone
- Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new software
- Reliable and punctual
- Able to work in an active automotive shop environment
- Automotive, tire, retail, hospitality or customer service experience is an asset, but not required
About AutoTown Point S AutoTown is a growing Western Canadian automotive service and tire company with locations across Alberta and British Columbia.
We believe an automotive shop can deliver the same level of hospitality you'd expect from a great hotel or restaurant. Customers should be greeted warmly, communicated with clearly and treated like people rather than repair orders.
That's the standard we're building.
We're also a growing company, which means this position can become much more than an entry-level customer service role. For the right person, there will be opportunities to learn the automotive business, develop sales and service skills, take on additional responsibility and build a career with AutoTown.
Interested?
Send us your resume and tell us a little bit about yourself.
Automotive experience isn't necessary. If you're great with people, eager to learn, dependable and think you'd enjoy being part of a busy automotive shop, we'd love to meet you.
