Role Description The CWB Inspector is a full-time, on-site role based in Alberta, Canada, responsible for performing welding inspection and quality verification in accordance with CWB standards and project specifications. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing welding procedures and drawings, conducting visual inspections and non-destructive examinations, verifying welder qualifications, and documenting inspection results in clear, accurate reports.

The CWB Inspector collaborates with project managers, engineers, contractors, and client representatives to address non-conformances, recommend corrective actions, and ensure compliance with safety,



quality, and regulatory requirements. The role also involves participating in pre-job meetings, monitoring fabrication and construction activities, supporting final turnover documentation, and maintaining organized records to meet audit and client requirements.

Qualifications

- Strong welding inspection expertise, including CWB certification (e.g., CSA W47, W59) and solid understanding of welding processes, symbols, and quality standards.
- Knowledge of QA/QC practices and relevant codes and standards (e.g., CSA, ASME, API) used in structural, mechanical, and pressure equipment inspection.
- Experience with visual inspection and basic NDT methods (such as MT, PT, UT, or RT) and ability to interpret inspection results accurately.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, welding procedure specifications, and technical documentation.
- Effective communication and report-writing skills, with the ability to document findings clearly and interact professionally with clients and project teams.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to make sound decisions in the field under time and project constraints.
- Commitment to safety, adherence to company and site safety policies, and willingness to work in industrial and construction environments.
- Relevant post-secondary education or trade background in welding, mechanical, or civil disciplines; previous experience as a C
