**Data QA Analyst (5 Month Contract)
Location: New Westminster, BC / Hybrid
Staffing Placement Opportunity** Overview We are seeking a Data Quality Assurance Analyst to support a data modernization initiative focused on standardizing, optimizing, and enhancing enterprise data pipelines. The successful candidate will work closely with development teams, product owners, and business stakeholders to ensure data quality, validate system functionality, and support the migration of legacy data solutions to modern cloud-based platforms.
This role is ideal for a QA professional with strong data validation and testing experience, excellent SQL skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality data solutions.
Project Overview The project involves modernizing and standardizing enterprise data pipelines by refactoring existing solutions to align with organizational architecture, development, and quality standards. The initiative includes migrating legacy data integration processes to modern cloud-based technologies to improve scalability, maintainability, and operational independence.
Responsibilities
- Review project documentation, requirements, and user stories to understand project objectives.
- Collaborate with development teams, product owners, and stakeholders to develop QA strategies and testing plans.
- Design, develop, and execute:
- Test Plans
- Test Cases
- Test Scenarios
- Test Scripts
- Automated Tests
- Perform system integration, functional, regression, performance, and user acceptance testing.
- Prepare test data and establish test environments.
- Execute test cases and document results.
- Manage and support user acceptance testing activities.
- Create and maintain defect and issue logs.
- Track, monitor, and facilitate defect resolution processes.
- Identify project risks and contribute to mitigation strategies.
- Provide regular QA status reports and project updates.
- Organize testing sessions and stakeholder review meetings.
- Support knowledge transfer, training activities, and user feedback sessions.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups and team meetings.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years of recent software quality assurance experience focused on application and data validation.
- Strong SQL skills (mandatory).
- Experience with data validation and test automation (mandatory).
- Experience working with Microsoft database technologies (mandatory).
- Experience developing and executing test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts.
- Experience with functional, integration, regression, and acceptance testing.
- Experience working within Agile project environments.
- Robust analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Python.
- Experience with Azure Synapse or similar cloud data platforms.
- Experience with Agile project management and tracking tools.
- Experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium, SoapUI, or Fiddler.
- Performance and load testing experience.
- Experience working in a unionized or large enterprise workplace.
