Day Porter –

Jim Pattison Developments is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to maintain the cleanliness and appearance of our properties throughout the day.

The Day

Porter plays a key role in ensuring tenants, employees, and visitors enjoy a clean, protected, and welcoming environment. This position will be reporting to the Property Manager, supports a small portfolio of properties located mainly in the southwest area of Edmonton, and will require some travel between sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a customer-service mindset, and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

- Perform routine cleaning and sanitizing of interior and exterior common areas including:
- Interior common areas (lobbies, hallways, restrooms, elevators)
- Exterior common areas (entrances, sidewalks, parking lots, loading areas, landscaping)
- Ensure common spaces are clean, presentable, and free of hazards
- Empty trash and recycling bins and replace liners
- Monitor and restock restroom and cleaning supplies
- Spot clean spills and respond quickly to cleaning emergencies
- Maintain cleanliness of windows, glass doors, and other surfaces

· Conduct regular walkthroughs of interior and exterior common areas to identify and address issues related to cleanliness and report any maintenance, security, safety, or tenant-impacting issues. · Respond promptly to cleaning emergencies, spills, washroom issues, tenant requests, and other urgent property concerns, while escalating maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate team member.




- Assist with light maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs or reporting repair needs
- Assist with seasonal maintenance, including snow removal, ice melt application, and light landscaping, as required.
- Monitor janitorial supply levels, maintain organized storage areas, and advise management when supplies or equipment require replenishment or repair.
- Provide excellent customer service to tenants, staff, and visitors
- Communicate effectively with tenants, vendors, and team members
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety guidelines
- Other tasks assigned by Property Management as required

Qualifications

- 2+ years of previous experience in a janitorial or similar role in a commercial, retail, office, or industrial setting.
- Experience using janitorial equipment such as vacuums, pressure washers, cleaning products, carts, and basic hand tools.
- Ability to complete daily checklists, inspection logs, and basic work order updates.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a face-paced environment.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to follow instructions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be punctual, reliable, and able to manage daily tasks with minimal supervision.
- Ability to perform light physical tasks, including lifting and standing for periods of time
- Comfortable working in various environments and weather conditions

· Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Pay: $37,000.00-$39,000.00 per year
