Confidential Opportunity: Dental Office Manager / Director of Operations

Established, privately owned dental practice | Southeast Calgary, Alberta | Full-time

Are you an experienced dental leader who is ready for more than simply keeping the day moving?

Dental Director Academy is confidentially recruiting an exceptional Office Manager/Director of Operations for a well-established, high-performing dental practice in Southeast Calgary. The clinic has a loyal patient base, a robust team culture and an owner who genuinely values people, respects boundaries and is ready to delegate meaningful responsibility to the right leader.

This is not a turnaround role. You will be joining a stable, busy practice with strong bones and significant growth potential. The opportunity is to bring greater structure, accountability and consistency to an already successful clinic—and to become a trusted operational partner to ownership.

Why this opportunity stands out

- A healthy, established practice with consistent patient demand
- A loyal team with a positive and collaborative culture
- An owner who wants to empower a capable leader—not micromanage one
- The autonomy to improve systems, develop people and influence results
- Support from Dental Director Academy during the leadership transition
- An opportunity to help shape the role around your strengths

- Competitive compensation based on experience, with the potential to discuss performance-based incentives

What you will lead You will oversee the day-to-day administrative and operational performance of the practice while helping the team stay aligned, accountable and focused.

Your responsibilities will include

- Leading,

coaching and supporting the administrative team
- Creating clear roles, expectations and accountability
- Improving communication between the clinical team, administration and ownership
- Monitoring practice KPIs and turning the numbers into practical action
- Supporting schedule productivity and effective use of provider time
- Strengthening new-patient conversion and treatment follow-up
- Overseeing hygiene coordination, schedule management and patient flow
- Ensuring administrative systems and protocols are followed consistently
- Identifying workflow gaps and implementing practical solutions
- Supporting hiring, onboarding, training and performance conversations
- Protecting the strong team culture while helping the practice continue to grow
- Keeping ownership informed without requiring the owner to manage every operational detail

Who we are looking for You are organized, emotionally intelligent and comfortable taking ownership. You can build strong relationships while still holding people accountable. You notice what needs attention, create a plan and follow it through without waiting to be reminded.

You may be a strong fit if you:

- Have previous dental office management or senior dental leadership experience
- Understand the operational and financial drivers of a dental practice

- Are comfortable using KPIs to guide priorities and conversations
- Can coach team members through change and performance expectations
- Communicate directly, respectfully and professionally
- Are proactive, solutions-focused and highly organized
- Can balance patient care, team wellbeing and business performance
- Want to make a meaningful contribution rather than simply maintain the status quo
- Are comfortable working closely with ownership while having autonomy in your role

Experience with Dentrix and dental performance dashboards would be an asset but is not essential for the right leader.

Compensation and location

This is a full-time, in-person position at an established dental practice in Southeast Calgary. Compensation will be competitive and aligned with the successful candidate’s experience, leadership capability and potential contribution to the practice.

Confidential application process

Dental Director Academy is managing the initial recruitment process to protect the confidentiality of both the practice and applicants. The identity of the clinic will be shared with shortlisted candidates once an initial fit conversation has taken place.

To apply, please submit your résumé and fill out the form that is auto-sent after you submit your resume.

All applications and conversations will be handled confidentially.

If you are ready to become the operational leader of a respected Southeast Calgary practice—and want the autonomy to make a genuine impact—we would love to hear from you.
