Mission Valley Post Acute is seeking a dependable and enthusiastic Dietary Cook to join our team. In this important role, you will help create nutritious, appetizing meals that support our residents' health, well-being, and overall dining experience. Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines
- Ensure meals meet residents' nutritional requirements and physician-ordered diets
- Modify food preparation to accommodate special dietary needs, including diabetic, low-sodium, and texture-modified diets
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, infection control, and workplace safety standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment
- Properly store, label, and rotate food items to ensure freshness and compliance
- Assist with inventory management and communicate supply needs to leadership
- Support meal service operations and ensure proper portion control




- Collaborate with dietary staff and interdisciplinary team members to provide excellent resident care

Qualifications

- Previous cooking experience in a healthcare, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or food service setting preferred
- Knowledge of therapeutic and modified diets is a plus
- Current Food Handler's Certification or ability to obtain upon hire
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to work efficiently in a quick-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Positive attitude and team-oriented approach
