Overview:

We’re seeking a technically strong and business-minded professional to join our Corporate Development team in supporting complex reinsurance and M&A; transactions. In this high-impact role, you’ll apply advanced modeling and financial analysis to evaluate deals, support pricing strategy, and collaborate across the enterprise to help shape Talcott’s future.
Responsibilities:
- Support the corporate development team in leading deals in diligence, structure and underwrite new reinsurance and M&A; opportunities; contribute to the construction of technical models and analysis in support of pricing flow and block reinsurance opportunities.
- Develop and maintain pricing and ate setting models used in the management of non-guaranteed elements on existing in-force contracts and to generate proposals on new business flow arrangements
- Lead in evaluation and modeling of transactions by combining technical understanding of financial / regulatory concepts with creative problem solving
- Participate in deal discussions and gain familiarity with transaction agreements
- Prepare presentation materials for meetings with working groups, executive management teams, investment committees, Board of Directors, investors, financing providers, rating agencies, and regulators
- Support financial reporting, valuation, and risk management teams in the development, maintenance and ownership of relevant actuarial models, controls, and processes
- Take initiative to gain a deeper understanding of target products, industry trends, and competitive landscape; stay current on regulatory developments in all relevant jurisdictions
- Collaborate with other functional areas and fulfill other roles and responsibilities as required to support the growth and evolution of overall enterprise and execution of key priorities
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, economics, finance, business or related field
- Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) or equivalent preferred, but not necessary
- A minimum 4 years of work experience in insurance or finance, with expertise in pricing, liability management, and investments
- High proficiency in Excel and experience. Strong experience building pricing models, and use of other programs and tools to improve processes and solve complex problems
- Self-starter and capable of quickly learning current concepts, thinking creatively and critically, agile and adaptable to changing needs and challenges of a fast-paced company
- Strong work ethic with willingness to work overtime to meet transaction deadlines
- Proven track record of delivering exceptional results under intense pressure and accelerated timelines within demanding, high-stakes environments.
- Possesses a drive for building relationships and growing businesses, with a startup mentality and an eye for untapped market potential.
- This role requires availability beyond standard business hours as needed. Our industry operates in a dynamic and fast-paced environment where market demands shift rapidly. Flexibility and responsiveness are essential for success in this position.
- Demonstrates flexibility and is willing to travel as needed.
Compensation: This range represents the minimum and maximum annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. The actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range. The base pay is based on factors including but not limited to experience, competence, and demonstration of proficiencies essential for the role.
The base pay is just one component of Talcott’s total annual compensation for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, long-term incentives and recognition.
