Dishwasher
Overview The Dishwasher at Broken Spanishis one of the most important roles in the culinary department. The Dishwasher is responsible for the sanitation and organization of all dishes, including plates, silverware, glasses, all kitchen equipment and smallwares. The dishwasher plays a key role in ensuring that the business consistently delivers high-quality food products, and it works cohesively with the culinary team to support the successful execution of the food menu.
Dishwasher Key Roles
- Be enthusiastic, energetic and demonstrate a genuine positive demeanor throughout the shift while working collaboratively with the culinary team
- Prepares the kitchen to ensure proper set-up for execution
- Cleans and sanitizes all dishes, utensils, cooking equipment etc. in a timely manner
- Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation
- Assist with basic food production when required
- Assists with receiving and verifying the quality and quantity of delivered products
- Operation systems adherence for execution, organization, and cleanliness
- Reports Directly into the Kitchen Manager and Sous Chef

- Organization: can effectively move between tasks and prioritize appropriately between execution, operational tasks, and cleanliness
- Time Management: effectively manages time to achieve business goals while satisfying the guest service needs.
- Communication: provides regular and relevant information on cleanliness and equipment maintenance

able to earn trust and take on tasks as assigned and required by the Kitchen Manager
Dishwasher Detailed Responsibilities
- Attends daily shift briefing with culinary team
- Provides satisfaction by ensuring guests and staff are using clean dishes and utensils
- Maintains clean and sanitary workstation to standards
- Keeps storage spaces organized and clean
- Support standards of cleanliness, timing, uniform, grooming, organization, production, food quality, and consistency through completion of operational checklists
- Empties out garbage, compost, and recycling bins in the entire kitchen during service
- Communicate effectively between alternate shifts (am and pm) and ensure station is ready for service for current and incoming shift
- Prepares produce and ingredients with instructions from Kitchen Manager or Sous Chef
- Practice safe food handling and overall kitchen safety
- May be assigned to assist multiple stations throughout the shift
Education and Job Requirements
- No experience required; any related experience is considered an asset
- Food Safety Course and W.H.M.I.S.
- Must be able to carry and lift items weighing 25lbs, must be able to stoop and bend
- Must be able to stand and move for extended periods of time to continuously perform essential job functions
- Ability to work flexible schedule including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays based on business needs
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: From $18.25 per hour
