Position Summary

The Direct Support Skilled will provide support to a woman with an intellectual disability. This position will support meaningful day time activities, and build independent living skills. Position is part-time, $19.00 per hour. Application deadline: August 28, 2026.

Requirements

- Must be 18 years or older
- Standard First Aid/CPR Level C
- Adult Criminal Record Check (ACRVS)
- Adult Abuse Registry Check (AARC)

Desired:
- Extremely Dependable
- Comfortable supporting someone withnon-verbal communitcation.

Specific Responsibilities:
- Treat the individual with dignity and respect in a manner consistent with the Adults Living with an Intellectual Disability Act.
- To support and encourage the individual with personal goals.
- To support building on and developing independent living skills such as personal hygiene,
- cooking,



cleaning and any other skills identified by the family.
- To always act as a positive role model and provide necessary support in social situations to
- ensure the individual’s comfort, self-esteem, and safety is maintained.
- Maintain open communication and work cooperatively with family and other support staff to ensure quality and continuity of support.
- To respond appropriately and independently in all situations to ensure the health and safety of the individual.
- Provide personal care as directed by the family.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
