Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Truck Dispatcher to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4–5 years of hands-on experience in trucking dispatch, with strong knowledge of North American freight operations, route planning, driver coordination, and customer service.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating daily transportation operations, maximizing equipment utilization, maintaining communication with drivers and customers, and ensuring shipments are delivered safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate and dispatch company drivers and equipment on a daily basis.
- Plan and optimize routes to maximize efficiency and minimize empty miles.
- Coordinate pickups, deliveries, appointments, and shipment schedules.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, brokers, and internal teams.
- Monitor driver progress and provide updates regarding shipment status.
- Manage and resolve delays, breakdowns, scheduling issues, and other operational challenges.
- Negotiate freight rates and coordinate loads with brokers and customers.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, shipments, and driver assignments.
- Ensure dispatch operations comply with applicable transportation and safety regulations.
- Monitor Hours of Service (HOS), ELD information, and driver availability.




- Maintain strong relationships with customers, brokers, and transportation partners.
- Assist with identifying and securing suitable loads to maintain consistent equipment utilization.
- Work closely with management to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
- Handle time-sensitive situations professionally and make effective decisions under pressure.

Qualifications
- Minimum 5-6 years of experience in trucking dispatch.
- Strong knowledge of North American trucking and freight operations.
- Experience working with brokers, shippers, and customers.
- Knowledge of ELD systems, Hours of Service, and transportation compliance.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with dispatch and transportation management systems.
- Ability to work in a rapid-paced, deadline-driven environment.
