Job Summary

Habitat for Humanity Niagara is seeking an energetic and responsible individual with a passion for customer service and teamwork to make a difference in our community as our Driver and Warehouse Associate.

The Driver and Warehouse Associate is a collaborative team member and acts as an ambassador for Habitat for Humanity Niagara. This position fully services donors by picking up donations throughout Niagara daily, that consists of merchandise suitable for resale in our ReStore.

In addition, this role supports the warehouse lead with product flow through our warehouse facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Driving and Donation Pickups

- Safely operate a 24-foot box truck throughout the Niagara region.
- Communicate professionally with donors to coordinate donation pickups and drop-offs.
- Safely load and unload furniture, appliances, building materials, and other donated merchandise.
- Complete required logbooks, vehicle inspections, and related documentation in accordance with applicable Ministry of Transportation requirements.
- Report vehicle concerns and coordinate maintenance and servicing as required.
- Follow all applicable laws,



safety standards, and organizational policies and procedures while operating the company vehicle.
- Provide professional and consistent service while representing Habitat for Humanity Niagara in the community.

Warehouse and Donation Centre

- Receive, assess, and process donations, including completing paperwork and assisting with product identification and valuation.
- Safely move merchandise through receiving, processing, storage, and sales-floor areas.
- Organize and rotate warehouse inventory and replenish the sales floor as required.
- Maintain clean, safe, organized, and accessible warehouse and receiving areas.
- Work collaboratively with employees, volunteers, and students, providing direction and assistance when appropriate.
- Follow all warehouse procedures and applicable health and safety requirements.
- Communicate professionally and consistently with donors, customers, volunteers, and colleagues.
- Perform other related driving, warehouse, and operational duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

- Experienced driver is an asset (Will be operating a 24ft box truck)
- Standard G license or trained in commercial vehicle operation in good standing is required
- Superior customer service skills
- Flexible work schedule including the ability to work alternate Saturday shifts
- A clean driving record with a clean driving abstract
- Experience preferred in customer service-related field or warehouse work




- Self-starter, high energy, and strong independent work ethic
- Computer literate and familiar with Microsoft (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- Demonstrates ability to multi-task and is team-oriented
- Experience working in a volunteer organization with volunteers and students
- Ability to lift at least 40lbs. Ability to bend, twist, push, and pull throughout the day, for extended periods of time
- Ability to work safely in all weather conditions
- Sound judgment and critical thinking skills
- Reliable and punctual.

Assets

- Forklift experience, training or license
- Warehouse experience
- Experience with tools and the ability to troubleshoot
