Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Drywall Taper to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for finishing drywall surfaces to create smooth, seamless walls and ceilings that meet high-quality standards. Your expertise will contribute to the overall aesthetic and structural integrity of our projects, ensuring client satisfaction and timely project completion.

Responsibilities

- Apply joint compound (mud) to drywall seams, corners, and fasteners to achieve a flawless surface finish
- Tape drywall joints using paper or fiberglass mesh tape, ensuring proper adhesion and alignment
- Sand dried joint compound to create smooth, even surfaces ready for painting or finishing
- Caulk gaps around drywall edges, trims, and fixtures for a clean, professional look
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to accurately execute drywall finishing plans
- Use hand tools such as trowels, knives, sanders, and sanding blocks efficiently and safely




- Collaborate with carpenters, painters, and other trades to coordinate work flow and meet project deadlines

Requirements

- Proven experience in drywall taping, finishing, or related construction roles
- Strong knowledge of construction painting, carpentry, caulking, and blueprint reading
- Handyman experience with a variety of tools and repair techniques is highly desirable
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced construction environment
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality craftsmanship
- Physical stamina to stand, bend, lift heavy materials, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the day
- Reliable work ethic with a commitment to safety standards on site
