Job Summary

Sunrise Child Care Centre is seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Educator (Level 2 or Level 3 preferred) to provide high-quality care and education for young children. The successful candidate will create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that supports children’s physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development while ensuring compliance with provincial standards set by Alberta Children’s Services.

Key ResponsibilitiesChild Care & Development

- Provide a safe, caring, and inclusive environment for all children
- Support children’s emotional, social, cognitive, and physical development
- Use positive guidance strategies to promote appropriate behavior
- Observe and document children’s development and progress

Program Planning & Implementation

- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities based on emergent curriculum and play-based learning
- Foster creativity, curiosity, and independence in children
- Adapt programming to meet individual needs and abilities

Health, Safety & Compliance

- Ensure compliance with Alberta Child Care Licensing regulations and centre policies
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom setting
- Follow all health, safety, and emergency procedures
- Supervise children at all times, including indoor and outdoor play

Family & Community Engagement





- Build positive relationships with parents and guardians
- Communicate effectively regarding children’s daily activities and development
- Address parent concerns professionally and respectfully

Team Collaboration

- Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development
- Support a positive and respectful workplace culture

Qualifications & Requirements

- Early Childhood Educator Certification (Level 2 or Level 3) recognized in Alberta
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a licensed child care setting preferred
- Valid First Aid & CPR Certification
- Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Strong understanding of child development and early learning frameworks
