The Complexity Team Educational Assistant will work collaboratively with other members of the Complexity Team and school staff to support students with complex learning, behavioural, social-emotional and executive functioning needs. Working with junior high and high school students, the Educational Assistant will provide proactive support through modelling, coaching, skill development, and support of implementation of strategies identified by the Complexity Team. Working alongside team members and classroom teachers, the Educational Assistant will support school participation, engagement, self-regulation, and independence.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, the Educational Assistant will help build staff and student capacity and promote consistent, inclusive and sustainable practices across school settings.

This temporary full-time hours are based on the school year calendar, with work scheduled Monday to Thursday and on designated Fridays, for a total of approximately 32.5 hours per week.

A strong background and expertise working with students with a wide range of physical, cognitive, social and emotional differences including:

- Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Trauma
- Down Syndrome
- medically fragile
- mild, moderate and severe intellectual delays
- ADHD




- self-care personal assistance, including toileting

Experience working with students with complex needs that includes collaboration with educational support teams and therapists, such as SLP, OT, and Behavioral Consultants is an asset. Pay Grid Level II (Certified) - Educational Assistant Certificate or Diploma, or a High School Diploma and the equivalent of a minimum of one (1) year of full-time post secondary course study.
