Position Overview The Electrical Construction Project Coordinator supports project managers and field teams in planning, executing, and closing electrical construction projects. This role ensures that schedules, budgets, documentation, and communication flow efficiently between clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist project managers in organizing and controlling all project activities from pre-construction to closeout.
- Coordinate submittals, RFIs, change orders, and material tracking.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation including shop drawing submittal and release, create and format o & m manuals, schedules, and meeting minutes and serving actions items.
- Liaise between project management, site supervisors, and clients to ensure information accuracy and timely updates.
- Support procurement efforts by obtaining quotes, tracking deliveries, and verifying invoices.
- Monitor project progress and assist in forecasting costs, schedules, and manpower requirements.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, electrical codes, and company quality procedures.
- Participate in project meetings and contribute to problem-solving and process improvement initiatives.
- Follow up with subcontractors and staff regarding test sheets, safety and training documentation
- Keep log on to company truck maintenance and book maintenance when required
- Participate in site visits, project scheduling and planning as required.
- Build rapport and productive working relationships with managers. Supervisors, field personnel, vendors, external agents and subtrades
- Assist with special projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related discipline.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in electrical or construction project coordination.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, drawings, and specifications.
- Proficiency with MS Office, project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project), and AutoCAD or Bluebeam is an asset.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a quick-paced environment.
