The team develops innovative electrification solutions incorporating battery systems, electric drivetrains, power electronics, vehicle controls, thermal management, and supporting electrical infrastructure.

Our client is seeking a talented Electrical Engineer to join their Advanced Engineering team and contribute to the design and development of next-generation battery-electric mining equipment.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will help design, integrate, test, and commission electrical systems across a range of electrification projects. The role combines electrical design with system integration, functional safety, testing, troubleshooting, and continuous design improvement.

This is an excellent chance for an engineer interested in battery-electric technology, power electronics, electric drivetrains, and the development of complex mechatronic systems for heavy-duty applications.

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Design and develop electrical systems associated with battery-electric and electrification projects
- Take responsibility for the functionality and safety of electrical systems associated with assigned projects
- Develop and review electrical circuit diagrams, schematics, drawing packages, simulations, reports, and other technical documentation
- Collaborate closely with mechanical, systems, firmware, software, and other engineering disciplines
- Work with global engineering teams on the development and delivery of projects
- Assist in defining the technical scope and electrical requirements of assigned projects
- Support the integration of battery systems, electric drivetrains, power electronics, thermal management, controls, and other components
- Identify and mitigate technical and project risks
- Identify opportunities for electrical design and process improvements
- Plan and execute testing and commissioning of newly developed electrical systems




- Support system integration to ensure compatibility, efficiency, functionality, and reliability
- Assist with general electrical assembly, wiring, prototyping, and troubleshooting where required
- Maintain accurate and detailed engineering documentation throughout the development process

Skills and Qualifications: Must-have:

- Engineering degree, diploma, or similar qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- 2+ years of related industry experience
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles
- Experience designing, developing, or integrating electrical systems
- Understanding of battery systems, electric drivetrains, power electronics, thermal management, or related technologies
- Understanding of functional safety principles
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Understanding of programming logic and how software interacts with and controls mechatronic systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Logical and methodical approach to problem-solving
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering environment

Nice-to-have:

- Experience with functional safety application design and development
- Knowledge of functional safety standards such as IEC 61508 and ISO 13849
- Experience with battery-electric vehicles or high-voltage battery systems
- Knowledge of communication protocols such as CAN and Ethernet
- Experience with electric motors, inverters, converters, contactors, and other power electronic components
- Understanding of hardware and software system simulation
- Experience with MATLAB and Simulink
- Experience with electrical CAD, schematic design, or similar engineering design tools

To really impress:

- Hands-on experience developing battery-electric vehicles or heavy-duty electrification systems
- Experience integrating battery systems, electric drivetrains, power electronics,



thermal management, and control systems into a complete functioning product
- Strong understanding of functional safety within safety-critical electrical systems
- Experience designing electrical systems for mining equipment, heavy machinery, automotive, or other mobile equipment
- Experience planning and executing system-level testing and commissioning
- Strong CAN communication and vehicle networking knowledge
- Hands-on electrical assembly, wiring, prototyping, and troubleshooting experience
- Experience working across hardware, software, electrical, and mechanical engineering disciplines
