Overview

Greater Essex Electrical is looking for an experienced and organized Electrical Material Assistant Manager to join our team. This position is ideal for someone with strong knowledge of electrical materials who can manage purchasing, inventory, material coordination, and communication between our office, suppliers, shop, and job sites.

Key Responsibilities

- Place electrical material orders with vendors and suppliers

- Request and compare supplier quotes and match pricing to obtain the best available prices

- Prepare and maintain material lists for job sites

- Review project requirements and coordinate material needs with the field team

- Monitor and control electrical material inventory

- Track material coming into and leaving the shop

- Organize and coordinate the delivery of materials from the shop to job sites

- Visit job sites as required to verify material requirements and inventory

- Communicate with electricians, foremen, project managers, and suppliers

- Follow up on backorders, shortages, incorrect material, and deliveries

- Process and enter Purchase Orders (POs)

- Enter and manage vendor invoices in QuickBooks

- Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory records

- Use Excel to track material, pricing, orders, inventory, and job costs

- Assist with general office and purchasing duties as required

Qualifications

Required:





- Strong, practical knowledge of electrical materials and supplies

- Previous experience working with an electrical contractor, electrical distributor, or similar environment

- Ability to read and understand electrical material lists and job requirements

- Strong organizational and time-management skills

- Excellent attention to detail

- Good communication and negotiation skills

- Microsoft Excel experience

- QuickBooks experience, including invoice entry and Purchase Orders

- Valid driver's licence and ability to travel to local job sites

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Is comfortable speaking with suppliers and negotiating pricing

- Can manage multiple projects and orders at the same time

- Is organized and follows up on outstanding orders

- Understands the importance of keeping job sites supplied and on schedule

- Is comfortable working both in the office and at construction sites

- Takes initiative and can work with minimal supervision

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
