The role of the Senior Electrical Distribution Engineer is to provide technical expertise for electrical distribution infrastructure (poles, wires, vault, duct bank, and cable) in accordance with client standards, engineering principles, guidelines, policies, and safety standards. Support the efficient and effective day-to-day operation of the distribution team from response to service requests to project delivery; ~ Resolve design and field engineering problems by conducting independent studies and analysis, exercising independent judgment in selecting and interpreting information,



recommending safe engineering designs to support successful operations and/or project completion. ~ Deliver exceptional customer service by communicating with stakeholders and performing activities such as defining the scope of Distribution engineering services to be provided, establishing the basic design criteria with the client, approving technical documentation, and assessing and reporting on work progress against standards, objectives, and specifications to support completion of projects safely, with quality, within budget and on time. ~ Provide specialized expertise in Distribution and actively mentor, coach, and set high standards for work performance, influencing the establishment of standards, frameworks, and targets for junior members of the team. ~ Exercise innovation to propose creative modifications to improve work processes, guidelines, instructions, procedures and standards where possible. ~ Design overhead line structures and associated facilities for voltages up to 35kV in an electric utility environment, such as equipment supports/foundations, termination structures, manholes/vaults, duct banks ~10+ years experience in an engineering role with specific Distribution knowledge ideally within British Columbia ~ Experience related to expertise in Overhead - and underground electric utility distribution systems operating at voltages at or below 35kV and in the electrical, mechanical, civil, and operating requirements of components used to build such systems.
