The Opportunity
Rightway Recruitment is representing a well-established electrical and utilities contractor with a strong presence across British Columbia. With continued growth across its BC Utilities division, the company is looking to add an Electrical Project Coordinator to its Vancouver team.
Working closely with Project Managers and Operations, this position will support electrical utility projects from planning through construction and closeout. You’ll be involved across scheduling, cost control, procurement, documentation, safety, and overall project coordination.
This is a strong opportunity for an Electrical Project Coordinator looking to gain exposure to larger utility projects and continue progressing toward Project Management.
Key Responsibilities
- Support electrical projects from planning and mobilization through construction and closeout
- Assist with project schedules, milestones, budgets, cost tracking, and forecasting
- Monitor project progress and communicate schedule, cost, or scope impacts to the Project Manager
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, trades, and internal project teams
- Support procurement and coordination of materials, equipment, subcontractors, and project resources
- Assist with contracts, change orders, revisions, and additions to contractual agreements
- Track project costs, margins, cash flow, and potential project changes
- Maintain accurate project documentation, databases, records, and document control
- Collect, analyze, and report on project data and overall performance
- Ensure work is coordinated in accordance with project specifications, company procedures, and applicable health and safety requirements
- Support the project team in delivering work safely, on schedule, and within budget
What You Bring
- 2–3+ years of experience as an Electrical Project Coordinator within the construction industry
- Strong understanding of electrical construction and project coordination
- Experience with construction scheduling, planning, procurement, and project execution
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Understanding of contract administration and project cost control
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders and managing competing project priorities
- Robust communication and problem-solving skills
- Valid BC Driver’s Licence
- Willingness to travel to project sites throughout British Columbia as required
Education & Technical Assets A degree, diploma, trade qualification, or equivalent experience in one of the following would be considered an asset:
- Electrical Engineering
- Red Seal Journeyman Electrician
- Electrical Engineering Technology
- Construction Engineering Technology
- Construction Management
- Project Management
Additional assets include:
- Utilities construction experience
- PMP designation or Gold Seal Certification
- Construction safety certifications
- Experience with ERP systems such as JD Edwards,
Oracle, or SAP
- Experience with MS Project or Primavera P6
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, and Project
Working Environment
- Vancouver-based position supporting electrical utility projects across BC
- Combination of office and project-site coordination
- Regular collaboration with Project Managers, Operations, field teams, subcontractors, clients, and consultants
- Some travel to project sites throughout British Columbia will be required
Compensation & Benefits
- $70,000 – $85,000 salary depending on experience
