Journeyperson or Fourth-Year Apprentice Electrician

Temporary Position with Potential for Full-Time Employment

Butler Electric Ltd. is seeking an experienced, dependable electrician to join our team. We are looking for either a Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician or a capable fourth-year apprentice who can work independently and is a motivated self-starter.

This position involves residential and commercial electrical work throughout the Shuswap area. It is temporary to start, with the potential to become permanent full-time as our workload grows.

Responsibilities

- Residential and commercial service work
- New construction and renovation projects
- Electrical troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance
- Reading drawings and completing job-site layouts
- Planning work and determining material requirements
- Coordinating and managing materials for assigned projects
- Maintaining an organized inventory of tools and materials in the company van
- Keeping the assigned vehicle clean, organized and properly maintained
- Communicating professionally with customers, contractors and other trades
- Completing work safely and in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code and Technical Safety BC requirements




- Accurately documenting work performed and materials used

Qualifications
- Red Seal Construction Electrician certification or fourth-year electrical apprenticeship
- Experience in residential and commercial electrical applications
- Service-work and troubleshooting experience
- Ability to work independently and manage assigned jobs
- Motivated, dependable and capable of taking initiative
- Strong organizational and material-management skills
- Professional customer-service and communication skills
- Valid driver’s licence with a satisfactory driving record

Position Details

- Compensation based on qualifications and experience
