Embroidery & Garment Printing Assistant

Hartty Clothing is looking for an experienced Embroidery & Garment Printing Assistant to join our team.

This is a hands-on production position working in our embroidery and garment printing department. We are looking for someone who already has experience in commercial embroidery, garment printing, or a closely related apparel decoration environment and is comfortable working with production equipment and graphic/embroidery software.

Previous industry experience is required for this position.

Responsibilities

- Operate commercial embroidery machines
- Hoop and prepare a variety of garments for embroidery
- Set up embroidery designs and ensure correct sizing, placement, thread colours, and orientation
- Monitor embroidery machines during production and troubleshoot basic issues
- Prepare and apply DTF transfers using commercial heat press equipment
- Accurately position and align prints on different garment styles and sizes
- Review work orders and artwork before beginning production
- Ensure logos, sizing, colours, quantities, and placements match customer specifications
- Inspect completed garments for quality and accuracy
- Trim, clean, fold, and finish embroidered garments
- Count and organize garments before and after production
- Identify potential production issues before garments are decorated
- Assist with basic equipment cleaning and maintenance
- Prepare completed orders for customer pickup or shipping
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient production area
- Work with other team members to keep orders moving through production and meet deadlines





Experience & Qualifications Previous embroidery, garment printing, or apparel decoration experience is required.

We are particularly interested in applicants with experience in one or more of the following:

- Commercial embroidery machine operation
- Embroidery hooping and garment placement
- DTF garment printing
- Heat press operation
- Wilcom EmbroideryStudio or similar embroidery software
- CorelDRAW or similar graphic design software
- Embroidery file setup and basic design adjustments
- Garment decoration, screen printing, or other apparel production
- Sewing or textile production

Experience with commercial embroidery equipment, Wilcom EmbroideryStudio, CorelDRAW, and DTF printing would be considered a strong asset.

Position Details Job Type: Part-time to Full-time, depending on workload

Location: Salmon Arm, BC – In person

Wage: Starting at $20/hour - based on experience

Hours for this position will vary depending on our production workload, with the opportunity for part-time to full-time hours during busier periods.

After the initial training period is successfully completed, this position offers a completely versatile work schedule. The successful candidate will have the ability to arrange their working hours around their own schedule while ensuring production deadlines and workload requirements are met.

This flexibility makes the position a great fit for someone who is experienced in the industry, works well independently, and is looking for a role that can accommodate other commitments.
