Course Description:

This course will examine how modern Muslim and Christian thinkers have attempted to grapple with how religious belonging and faith can exist in increasingly pluralist and secular societies. Course lectures will explore themes such as religious cultural imaginaries, human dignity, peace-building, spirituality and advancements in modern science and technology.

Qualifications:

The instructor of this course should have:





- A well-recognized academic degree—preferably PhD—from a well-established educational institution or university.
- An educational background that includes the study of Islamic theology, traditions, history and literature as well as the diverse cultures of the Muslim community.
- An experience in teaching the Islamic faith and the Muslim traditions in the North American context.

Brief description of duties: Preparation and delivery of course content; goals/outcomes; development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and exams; calculation and submission of grades; holding regular office hours; supervising TAs (if any) assigned to the course.

Salary:

$9,997.28 (includes vacation pay)
