Niagara Soils Solutions Ltd. (NSSL) is seeking an experienced Environmental CAD Technologist / Draftsperson to join our team.

This position is intended for someone with previous drafting experience in the environmental consulting industry. We are looking for a candidate who already understands environmental investigation and reporting requirements and can prepare technical drawings and figures with limited direction. This is not an entry-level CAD position, and environmental consulting experience is required.

Responsibilities The successful candidate will prepare and maintain technical drawings and figures in AutoCAD in support of environmental assessment, remediation and Record of Site Condition (RSC) projects, including:

- Phase One ESA figures, including Phase One Study Areas, property features, Potentially Contaminating Activities (PCAs) and Areas of Potential Environmental Concern (APECs);
- Phase Two ESA figures showing boreholes, monitoring wells, test pits, sampling locations and investigation areas;
- Soil and groundwater analytical exceedance and delineation figures;
- Remediation and excavation plans, including verification sampling locations;
- Record of Site Condition (RSC) figures and supporting environmental drawings;
- Borehole and monitoring well logs based on field information and investigation records;
- Site plans, cross-sections and other technical figures required for environmental reports;
- Updating figures as investigation results, analytical data and project scopes evolve; and
- Coordinating with Project Managers, Qualified Persons (QPs) and field staff to ensure drawings accurately represent site conditions and investigation findings.

Required Qualifications

- Previous drafting experience within an environmental consulting firm or directly related environmental field is required;
- Demonstrated experience preparing figures for Phase One and Phase Two Environmental Site Assessments;
- Familiarity with environmental investigations involving boreholes, monitoring wells,



soil and groundwater sampling;
- Experience preparing borehole and/or monitoring well logs;
- Strong proficiency with AutoCAD;
- Working knowledge of Ontario Regulation 153/04 and the drawing/figure requirements associated with Phase One ESAs, Phase Two ESAs and Records of Site Condition;
- Ability to understand environmental terminology, analytical results, sampling locations, APECs, PCAs and contaminant delineation;
- Ability to interpret field notes, survey information, laboratory data and direction from environmental professionals and translate that information into clear technical figures;
- Solid attention to detail, accuracy and document consistency; and
- Ability to manage multiple projects and revisions within consulting deadlines.

Preferred Experience Experience with any of the following would be considered an asset:

- RSC submissions and supporting figures;
- Excess soil projects under O. Reg. 406/19;
- Remediation and excavation drawings;
- Survey data and coordinate systems;
- Groundwater contouring;
- Environmental data management; and
- Preparing figures to established consulting or regulatory standards.

What We Are Looking For The successful candidate should be comfortable receiving environmental data and project direction and understanding how that information needs to be presented for Phase One/Two ESA, remediation and RSC reporting. The ability to recognize missing or inconsistent information and raise questions with the project team is important. This role would be well suited to an experienced Environmental CAD Technologist, Environmental Draftsperson, CAD/GIS Technologist or Environmental Technician with strong AutoCAD capabilities and direct experience supporting environmental consulting projects.
