Join the Region of Waterloo as an Environmental Supervisor leading the Forestry and Natural Heritage Program. Use your forestry skills to create impactful conservation strategies. In this full-time role, you will provide operational oversight for forestry activities while ensuring adherence to environmental regulations.
You'll supervise staff, manage projects targeting ecological preservation, and implement community-centered forestry initiatives. Engaging with various stakeholders is essential to achieve sustainable management practices. Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate long-term strategies for woodland conservation
- Oversee staff performance and operational priorities
- Ensure effective implementation of conservation regulations
- Engage respectfully with Indigenous communities
- Handle public inquiries on forestry matters Requirements:
- Relevant university degree in forestry or a related field
- Eligible for RPF registration in Ontario
- Significant experience in forestry management
- Solid supervisory experience in a complex organization
- Familiarity with environmental legislation and community engagement processes Lead with passion for conservation and community impact in the Region of Waterloo.
