Job Overview

We are seeking a talented and experienced Event Chef to join our culinary team and deliver exceptional dining experiences during private event bookings at the Whistler Racket Club. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and extensive food industry knowledge. This role involves overseeing food preparation, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring adherence to food safety standards in a dynamic restaurant environment.

The WRC is one of Whistlers most popular venue for events: staff appreciation parties, birthday celebrations, corporate events, wedding receptions and more. The hired candidate for this role will be scheduled to assist with the service of these events. 90% of these shifts will fall in afternoons/evenings between the hours of 4pm-11pm. The majority of food served throughout events are self-serve buffet style menus.

Duties

- Assist head Chef to ensure efficient food preparation and service.
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards.
- Oversee food handling, storage,



and sanitation procedures to maintain compliance with health regulations.
- Ensure consistent quality of dishes served and uphold the restaurant’s culinary reputation.
- Lead by example in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.

Experience

- Proven supervising experience in a restaurant or food service environment.
- Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and food handling.
- Robust knowledge of restaurant management practices and kitchen operations.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices within the food industry.
- Previous restaurant experience is required; hospitality background is a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
