Job Overview

We are hiring reliable, professional, and customer-focused Event Security Guards to join our team on a casual basis. This position is ideal for individuals looking for flexible work while gaining experience in event security and crowd management.

You can expect approximately 4–5 events per month, with schedules provided approximately one month in advance to help you plan your availability.

As a contractor, you will receive the full agreed hourly wage, with paid breaks provided in accordance with applicable requirements.

Duties

- Maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for guests, staff, and event organizers.
- Monitor entrances, exits, restricted areas, and assigned security posts.
- Check credentials, tickets, passes, or identification when required.
- Conduct crowd monitoring and assist with effective crowd control.
- Respond professionally to incidents, disturbances, and emergencies.
- De-escalate conflicts and challenging situations using calm and professional communication.
- Enforce event rules, venue policies, and security procedures.
- Monitor for suspicious activity, safety hazards, or unauthorized access.
- Assist with emergency procedures and coordinate with event management, emergency services, or police when necessary.
- Complete incident reports and other required security documentation accurately.
- Provide professional customer service and directions to guests when appropriate.
- Maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times.




- Perform other security-related duties as assigned by the supervisor or event manager.

Requirements

- Valid Security Certificate (Mandatory)
- Valid Serve It Right certificate (Mandatory)
- Previous event security, venue security, crowd control, hospitality, or customer-service experience is an asset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful or high-pressure situations.
- Strong observation and situational-awareness skills.
- Ability to follow instructions, policies, and security procedures.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable attendance.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying event hours.
- Must be comfortable working in busy environments with large crowds.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Successful completion of any required screening or onboarding process.
