TwinCon Enterprises Ltd. specializes in civil earthworks, excavation and rock breaking, drilling and blasting, underground utilities, and subdivision development throughout Western Canada.

We are currently seeking an experienced Pipelayer to join our team for a major civil construction project in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Pipelayer looking for $55/hour, paid accommodations, paid flights, and an attractive meal allowance while working on an exciting northern project.

The position is based out of our Kelowna operations. Candidates based out of the Okanagan are preferred; however, experienced candidates from outside this area who are willing and able to travel to Yellowknife for the project are encouraged to apply.

Position Overview The successful candidate will have solid experience in civil construction and municipal underground utilities, with the ability to safely and efficiently complete pipe installation while working collaboratively with supervisors, equipment operators, and labour crews.

The Pipelayer will be responsible for the installation of underground utility systems, including water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and drainage infrastructure, while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

- Install underground water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and drainage systems according to project specifications.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, grades, and specifications.
- Perform pipe installation with a focus on accuracy,



quality, and production requirements.
- Prepare trenches and pipe bedding to meet required elevations and specifications.
- Verify grades and elevations during installation.
- Safely work around existing underground utilities, including gas, hydro, communication, water, and sewer infrastructure.
- Install manholes, catch basins, services, and related underground infrastructure.
- Complete pipe connections, joint sealing, bedding, compaction, and backfilling activities.
- Coordinate effectively with equipment operators, labourers, and supervisors to maintain project schedules.
- Complete daily site assessments and identify potential hazards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Provide guidance and support to crew members as required.

Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in pipelaying and civil construction preferred.
- Strong understanding of municipal underground utility installation, including water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and drainage systems.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, grades, and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of pipe installation, grade checking, bedding, compaction, and backfill requirements.




- Experience leading or directing pipelaying activities is considered an asset.
- Valid driver's license.
- Proven safety record and commitment to protected work practices.
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
- Ability and willingness to work extended hours when required.
- Must be willing and able to travel to Yellowknife, NT for the project.
- Must provide professional references.
