Rick Davis Promotions Inc. is an established event production, experiential marketing, exhibit design, and custom fabrication company serving clients across the GTA and beyond. We design, build, fabricate, deliver, and install custom exhibits, event structures, displays, and experiential environments.

We are currently looking for a Fabricator / Carpenter / Builder to join our team. This is a hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys building, working with different materials, solving problems, and seeing projects come together from the shop to the finished installation.

Position Overview The successful candidate will work in our fabrication shop and on-site at events and installations. You will be responsible for constructing, assembling, modifying, repairing, and installing custom structures, displays, exhibits, event elements, and other fabricated projects.

This position is ideal for a skilled carpenter, builder, fabricator, or experienced general tradesperson who is comfortable working from drawings, measurements, and instructions and can take a project from the building stage through to installation.

Key Responsibilities

- Read and interpret drawings, plans, measurements, and build instructions.
- Build and assemble custom exhibits, displays, structures, event installations, and promotional elements.
- Perform general carpentry, woodworking, framing, finishing, and assembly work.
- Measure, cut, drill, fasten, assemble, and finish various materials.
- Work with materials such as wood, MDF, plastics, laminates, metals, and other fabrication materials.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely and effectively.
- Assist with fabrication, modifications, repairs, and finishing of existing structures and displays.
- Prepare completed projects for transportation and installation.
- Load and unload materials, equipment, and finished projects.
- Participate in on-site installations and dismantling of exhibits and event structures.
- Work collaboratively with project managers,



designers, shop staff, and installation crews.
- Identify construction or installation issues and provide practical solutions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure work area.
- Follow company health and safety procedures and properly use required PPE.
- Perform other shop, fabrication, and installation duties as required.

Qualifications & Skills

- Previous experience in carpentry, fabrication, construction, millwork, exhibit building, or a related trade.
- Strong understanding of basic carpentry and construction techniques.
- Ability to accurately measure and work with dimensions.
- Comfortable using hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to read basic drawings, plans, or construction sketches.
- Strong attention to detail and quality of workmanship.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to take ownership of assigned work.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing project requirements.
- Valid driver's licence is an asset.
- Experience with event, trade-show, exhibit, or experiential fabrication is an asset.

Physical Requirements This is a physically active, hands-on position.

The successful candidate must be comfortable with:

- Standing and working for extended periods.
- Lifting and carrying materials and equipment.
- Bending, kneeling, reaching, and working in different positions.
- Working in a fabrication shop, warehouse, and outdoor/event environments.
- Working on ladders and elevated work areas when required.
- Working extended or flexible hours during installations and events when required.
