Senior QA Engineer – Mobile Testing (Field Mobility)

Position: Full Time – Canada

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mobile QA Engineer to join the projects team. The candidate will be responsible for validating a business-critical mobile application used by field operations personnel, ensuring high quality across iOS and Android platforms, backend integrations, notifications, offline capabilities, and end-to-end workflows .

The role requires a robust combination of manual testing, mobile automation, API testing, and cross-functional collaboration , along with strong communication and collaboration skills.

Required Skills

Mobile Testing

- 8+ years of QA experience, with at least 5+ years focused on mobile application testing.
- Strong experience testing native or hybrid mobile applications on iOS (iPhone/iPad) and Android .
- Experience with mobile device labs, simulators, and emulators.
- Strong understanding of application lifecycle, app installation, upgrades, and release validation.
- Experience with Ionic mobile framework .
- Experience with Windows and Mac operating systems .
- 3+ years of BrowserStack experience is mandatory – Advanced level.

Mobile Automation

- Hands-on experience building and maintaining mobile automation frameworks.
- Experience with Appium (preferred) and Selenium-based automation .
- Ability to automate end-to-end mobile workflows.
- Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience testing applications with multi-factor authentication (MFA) workflows.
- BrowserStack experience using virtual devices for testing.

API Testing

- Strong API testing experience using Postman .
- Ability to validate REST APIs, request/response contracts, authentication flows, and error handling.
- Experience with API automation is preferred.

Functional Testing

Strong experience validating

- User authentication and authorization.
- Task and workflow management.
- Notifications and alerts.
- Asset management applications.




- Search and filtering capabilities.
- Mobile-to-backend integration scenarios.
- End-to-end business process testing.

Backend & Data Validation

- Good SQL querying skills.
- Ability to validate backend data and troubleshoot data inconsistencies.
- Experience validating integrations across multiple systems and services.

Agile & QA Practices

- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
- Test planning and test case design experience.
- Regression, smoke, integration, SIT, and UAT support.
- Risk-based testing approach.
- Defect lifecycle management using Azure DevOps (mandatory) .
- Git commands.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with Angular/Ionic-based mobile applications for testing and automation.
- Experience testing offline-capable mobile applications.
- Experience with push notifications and device permissions.
- Experience working with Azure DevOps.
- Experience with CI/CD validation.
- Experience with MongoDB or document databases.
- Understanding of cloud-hosted applications and microservices of Azure and AWS .
- Experience with Swift, TypeScript, Capacitor, YAML, Angular, C#, Node.js, and Java – Medium to Advanced .

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and execute comprehensive test plans for mobile releases.
- Perform manual and automated testing across iOS and Android platforms.
- Validate API integrations and backend data flows.
- Execute regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Support release validation across development, staging, and production environments.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and business stakeholders.
- Identify quality risks early and provide mitigation recommendations.
- Develop and maintain mobile automation suites.
- Participate in requirement reviews and sprint planning activities.
- Investigate, document, and track defects through resolution.
- Demonstrate weekly in Sprint Review on Automation and Manual testing progress.
