Financial Analyst - Junior (GOAPRDJP00001000)

Work Status: In office
Contract Duration: 6 months (10/01/2026 to 03/31/2027) with possibility of extension
Work Location: 9833 - 109 ST, Edmonton, Alberta
Must Have: Education
· Bachelor degree or diploma in IT, Computer Science, Business, Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, or equivalent experience
Must Have: Technical Skills
· Knowledge of accounting principles and Canadian public sector accounting standards or equivalent.
Must Have: Work Experience
· 1 year work experience creating and using advanced Excel skills such as Pivot table, VLOOKUP etc.
· 2 years experience with and knowledge of financial transactions ensuring the accuracy and reliability of financial data, and using Microsoft Excel.
Nice to Have: Education
· Pursuing CPA designation
Nice to Have: Work Experience
· 2 years experience applying financial audit, and/or financial controls, and/or financial reconciliation, and/or financial systems governance principles to large-scale data migration, data conversion, or ERP implementation projects.
· 2 years experience with Accounts payable, Accounts receivable, Account reconciliation, and finding errors
· 1 year experience with SAP Finance (FI), including financial postings, invoice processing, and integration points with procurement and supply chain.
· 2 years supporting the team on diverse financial operations
Description:
Candidate will apply their accounting skills to full cycle accounting and financial reporting, including developing and executing month end processes, financial analysis,
dashboards and external/internal reporting.
Duties will include but not limited to:
- Prepare journal entries.
· Assist in preparation of month end reporting, account reconciliations, bank reconciliations.
· Assist in AP, AR, business partner maitenance, capital assets maitenance
· Support variance analysis and investigate abnormalities.
· Review and analyze accruals and other trial balance accounts, custome collections
· Identify and implement process improvements.
· Analyze and interpret financial information.
· Work with business entities to gather and disseminate information for budgeting and forecasting purposes.
· Other duties as required.
Working Hours/location:
· Per worker model below this is a Onsite role.
· Standard Hours of work are 8:15 to 4:30 with a 1 hr lunch break Alberta time, Monday through Friday excluding holidays observed by the province.
· Location: Bowker Building N, 6th Floor
