Job Overview:

A Supervisor is the front-line leader responsible for ensuring that people, processes, and equipment work together to safely and effectively to produce, package, store, and ship quality products. The Floor Supervisor works on the day shift, in close collaboration with the Production Supervisor. Both roles have individual and shared responsibilities, as stated below.

Floor Supervisor Responsibilities:

- Perform daily safety huddles and review safety alerts with staff.
- Verify attendance and task assignments for all operators.
- Consult with Production Supervisor for any job movements that may need to happen, prevent schedule changes that create machine downtime when possible.
- Review inspection paperwork for accuracy and completeness. Enter inspection data into maintenance software.
- Conduct coil row inspections or direct Crane operators to complete and return for entry into maintenance software.
- Ensure lines are properly equipped with the resources required to complete upcoming orders.
- Inspect work areas and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and compliance.
- Organize and direct cleaning activities at shift end.




- Complete safety incident and hazard reporting and assist investigations when required.
- Address personnel issues such as attendance or behavioral concerns.
- Update and maintain timecard records in payroll software for assigned employees.

Shared Responsibilities (with Production Supervisor)

- Confirm all operators are present, assigned to work, and aware of their tasks.
- Ensure employees are working in compliance with safety standards and wearing their PPE properly.
- Ensure all safety issues are reported formally through company safety software.
- Conduct daily safety huddles and communicate safety alerts for respective teams.
- Ensure the facility is kept in a clean and organized manner.
- Directly handle employees inquiries on the floor and escalate when necessary.
- Troubleshoot and escalate equipment breakdowns or process issues immediately.

Qualifications:

- Secondary school diploma required; post-secondary education in Operations Management, Manufacturing or a related field is considered an asset
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, with demonstrated supervisory or team leadership responsibility
- Proven experience managing production schedules, staffing,



and workflow in a fast-paced setting
- Strong working knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations and best practices
- Experience conducting safety meetings, incident reporting, and investigations
- Ability to read and interpret production documents, quality standards, and inspection reports
- Experience using production, maintenance, or ERP software is an asset
- Forklift and/or overhead crane certification or experience is considered an asset
- Availability to work flexible shifts and occasional overtime as required

- Intermediate computer skills with the ability to learn new computer programs/software.

Key Performance Indicators

- Safety: follow all safety procedures, report hazards and incidents immediately
- Attendance: reliable and punction as per shift schedule
- Quality: materials are packaged correctly, measurements are accurate, and quality issues are flagged for attention when necessary

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
