Edmonton

YEG Woodcraft is seeking a Full-Time Woodworker to join our team in a Finishing Prep & Shop Support role! You'll own the middle stage of our production process, working alongside a teammate who handles milling and building, to get every piece ready for spray finishing.

About Us

At YEG Woodcraft, we create custom hardwood furniture, including dining tables, benches, shelving, and other solid-wood pieces. Quality and craftsmanship are at the core of everything we build.

What You'll Do

As our Finishing Prep team member, you'll prepare furniture for spray finishing and keep the shop running smoothly. A typical day includes:

Sanding (the biggest part of the role): Extensive daily sanding of tops, bottoms, and edges to prepare surfaces for a flawless finish. Comfort with repetitive, detailed sanding for a large portion of each workday is essential.

Cutting: Cut furniture components to their final size.

Surface prep and inspection: Inspect and prepare surfaces so they are ready for spray finishing.

Hardware installation: Install and mount hardware such as legs, threaded inserts, and table-extension components.

Wrapping and handoff: Wrap and protect completed pieces and send them to our separate spray-finishing shop, where stain and protective coating are applied.

Shop support: Help prepare shipments, receive and organize incoming inventory, clean and maintain the shop, safely move materials and furniture, and assist with other shop tasks as needed.

Hours & Schedule:

Full-time,

Monday to Friday, 8-hour daytime shifts (40 hours per week). This is a consistent, predictable schedule with no flex or remote option.

What We're Looking For

Reliable and punctual, with strong attention to detail and quality.

Comfortable with physical shop work, including handling heavy furniture pieces with team assistance.

Able to use, or willing to learn, sanders, track saws, drills, and other standard woodworking tools.

Able to follow measurements and production instructions accurately.

Woodworking or shop experience is an asset, but not required, we're happy to train the right person.

Able to work independently and as part of a small team.

Comfortable with the sanding-heavy nature of this role, sanding will take up the majority of most workdays.

What We Provide

All tools and equipment.

Hands-on training.

A consistent, full-time weekday schedule.

A hands-on role in a growing custom furniture operation.
