The Role
As a Golf Course Maintenance Team Member, you are part of the crew that cares for the course day in and day out. Working under the direction of the Golf Course Superintendent, you will handle the daily tasks that keep the greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, and surroundings in top shape.
Most days start early and are spent outdoors. Some tasks you will do on your own once trained; others you will do alongside the rest of the crew. No two mornings are quite the same, and by the time the first groups tee off, the course is ready because of the work you put in.
What You'll Do
- Mow greens, tees, fairways, approaches, and rough using walk-behind and riding mowers
- Rake and maintain bunkers so they are clean, firm, and consistent
- Change cups and hole locations, set tee markers, and complete daily course setup
- Repair divots, ball marks, and worn areas to keep playing surfaces healthy
- Hand-water and move irrigation, and help monitor for dry or stressed areas
- Rake, edge, weed, and tidy landscaped areas, cart paths, and clubhouse surroundings
- Clear debris, empty waste and ball-washer stations, and keep the course clean and presentable
- Assist with topdressing, aeration, seeding, and other seasonal turf projects
- Clean equipment after use and report any mechanical issues to the shop
- Follow all safety, WHMIS, and course-care procedures as directed by the Superintendent
What You Bring Required
- A strong work ethic and a willingness to start early, work outdoors, and stay busy
- Reliability - the crew counts on every member showing up ready to go
- Ability to do physical work: lifting, bending, walking, and being on your feet all day
- Comfortable working in a range of weather condions through the golf season
- A team-first attitude and the ability to follow direction and work independently once trained
- Valid Nova Scotia driver's licence, or reliable transportaon to the course
Nice to Have
- Previous golf course, landscaping, turf, or grounds maintenance experience
- Experience operating mowers, utility vehicles, or small equipment
- Familiarity with the game of golf and course etiquette
- WHMIS or equipment safety training
