Western Fair District is looking for friendly, energetic, and customer-focused individuals to join our team for the 2026 Western Fair this September!

As a member of our Guest Services team, you will play an important role in creating a welcoming and memorable experience for our guests. This position combines guest services and merchandise sales, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a rapid-paced environment, and can think quickly on their feet.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide exceptional customer service and assist guests with questions and inquiries.
- Provide directions, information, and assistance throughout the Fair.
- Provide accurate information about Fair programming, attractions, services, and activities.
- Sell Fair merchandise and accurately process merchandise transactions.
- Handle cash, debit, and credit card transactions as required.
- Maintain an organized and well-stocked merchandise area.
- Assist with setting up, displaying, and restocking merchandise.
- Use quick thinking, good judgment, and problem-solving skills to assist guests and resolve issues.
- Remain calm, professional, and courteous when dealing with challenging or unexpected situations.
- Recognize when an issue should be escalated to a supervisor.
- Support other Guest Services team members and Fair departments as required.
- Help create a welcoming, positive, and inclusive experience for all Fair guests.

- Comfortable handling cash, debit, and credit card transactions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a busy, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and unexpected situations.
- Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
- Comfortable interacting with a wide variety of guests.
- Reliable and dependable.
- Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends over the ten day period and before fair

Availability Requirements The 2026 Western Fair runs from September 11–20, 2026. Successful candidates must be available to work during the Fair, as well as for training, orientation, and preparation shifts beginning after Labour Day. Shifts may include early mornings, daytime, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Flexible availability throughout the Fair period is required.

This is a seasonal position for the 2026 Western Fair.
