Role Description The Head of Cyber Security is a contract, remote role responsible for leading the overall security strategy and execution across NULLSQUARE’s services and internal operations. This role oversees the design and implementation of security architectures, coordinates offensive testing activities, and directs vulnerability management initiatives. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing security risks, reviewing application and network security controls, guiding incident response, and ensuring information security policies and standards are maintained.
The Head of Cyber Security will collaborate with technical and leadership teams, provide expert guidance on security best practices, and continuously evaluate and improve next-generation defense capabilities.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Cybersecurity and Information Security, with the ability to define and drive organization-wide security programs.
- Experience in Application Security, including secure development practices, code review, and remediation of application-level vulnerabilities.
- Proficiency in Vulnerability Management, such as risk assessment, prioritization, and oversight of remediation activities.
- Expertise in Network Security, including securing network architectures, monitoring, and implementing defensive controls.
- Proven experience leading security teams or programs, preferably in a consulting or security services environment.
- Familiarity with offensive security testing methodologies, penetration testing, and red teaming is highly beneficial.
- Knowledge of common security frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, CIS) and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; advanced certifications (e.g., CISSP, OSCP, CISM) are a plus.
