Simcoe Parts Service is currently recruiting for a H&S; Co-op to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a soon to be grad who is interested in expanding their skills within the Health and Safety field. This position is a part of a strong team environment.

In this role, you will assist with the day-to-day function of the H&S; department. SPS’s Student program aims to provide students with valuable development experience that can be leveraged in future H&S; career opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide administrative support to the H&S; department and JHSC team with data entry, meeting scheduling, filing, etc.
- Assist the H&S; department with the implementation of safety programs, communications or initiatives
- Assist with investigations and reviewing incident reports
- Prepare and update reports as needed
- Lead in class safety trainings as required
- Other duties as assigned

Work Details: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM Hours are subject to change; occasional Saturdays may be required.

Contract : 4‑month contract.

PREREQUISITES:





- Working towards completion of a university or college degree in the health and safety or human resources field
- Basic understanding of ergonomic principles
- Intermediate excel skills
- Proficient skills and experience with Microsoft applications (Word, PPT and Visio)
- Must be prepared to sign, and abide by, a confidentiality agreement

- Strong attention to detail and ability to learn quickly
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision when required
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Willingness to take initiative, research and bring forward solutions/improvement ideas
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills
- The ideal candidate will have the ability to thrive in a quick paced environment
