Responsibilities
- Assist residents or clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to ensure their comfort and dignity.
- Support patients with medication administration following proper protocols and documentation procedures.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary.
- Perform light cleaning duties to maintain a safe, hygienic environment for residents and staff.
- Help with mobility and transfer tasks, including heavy lifting when required, using proper techniques to prevent injury.
- Monitor health status by observing symptoms, reporting changes to healthcare professionals, and documenting care provided.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being and reduce feelings of isolation or loneliness.
Requirements
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospice care, or home care environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver compassionate patient care across diverse populations, including seniors and individuals with disabilities.
- Knowledge of dementia care strategies and experience working with individuals experiencing memory loss or cognitive decline.
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting tasks and assisting with mobility; ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare teams, residents, and families.
- Certification or training in caregiving or nursing assistance is advantageous but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential.
- Ability to follow safety protocols diligently while maintaining a positive attitude in a rapid-paced environment.
