This posting will be used to fill 1 permanent part-time position with Continuing Care at Alexander McDonald Lodge in Dawson City working 37.5 hours bi-weekly. It will also be used to establish a 12‑month eligibility list, which may be used to fill future similar vacancies.
The job is based in the thriving city of Dawson City in the beautiful Yukon Territory.

Alexander McDonald Lodge (AML) in Dawson City, YT is a 15-bed long-term care home that provides person-centered care to individuals who need varying levels of intermediate care support with daily living activities. Through responsiveness to each resident’s uniqueness, the Lodge creates a feeling of home and belonging for all who live there.

Essential Qualifications

- Recent experience in caring for people, preferably caring for chronically ill or elderly clients
- Recent experience working in long term care OR experience providing personal care
- Experience working with various cultural backgrounds

Conditions of employment
You must meet the following conditions before being hired, or within the time frame noted.
TB screening, RCMP Security Clearance with Vulnerable Sector Check, CPR Level C with AED (within last 2.5 years), WHMIS 2015, and Food Safe Level1 (completed within the last 2 years)
Job Requirement
Shift Work; Exposure to flowers and/or plants and/or second-hand smoke; Exposure to animals; Heavy lifting and bending; Exposure to latex products and other irritants; Exposure to weather while assisting residents outside; Lifting up to 50 lbs as part of resident care and transfers.
