Heavy Duty Technician – Truck, Transport & Heavy Equipment

IRON 5 Equipment & Repair Ltd. is a growing independent repair shop in Nisku, Alberta, specializing in commercial fleet maintenance and repair. Our customers operate everything from heavy trucks and trailers to light fleet vehicles and heavy equipment.

We are a proud member of HDA Truck Pride and a Truck Service Experts (TSE) centre, giving our team access to industry-leading resources, technical support, and ongoing training opportunities.

We’re looking for an experienced Heavy Duty / Truck & Transport Technician who enjoys diagnosing problems, takes pride in quality repairs, and wants to be part of a team that is continuing to grow.

This is a full time, local position with a Monday–Friday schedule. You’ll work on a wide variety of equipment, have opportunities for overtime, and be home every night.

The Work

Depending on your experience, your day could include:

Heavy truck and trailer diagnostics and repair

Commercial fleet maintenance and inspections

Electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting

Engine diagnostics and repair

Brake, suspension, steering, and drivetrain repairs

Preventive maintenance and scheduled fleet servicing

Light fleet vehicle repair

Heavy equipment repair and maintenance

CVIP inspections

Wheel alignments

Troubleshooting difficult or intermittent mechanical issues

We value technicians who can diagnose the problem, think through the repair,



and get the job done properly.

Who We’re Looking For

Ideally, you are a Journeyman Truck & Transport Technician or Heavy Equipment Technician with strong diagnostic and repair experience.

The following are strong assets:

CVIP license

Out of Province (OOP) Inspection Certification

Wheel alignment experience

Strong electrical diagnostic skills

Engine diagnostic and repair experience

Experience working with commercial fleets

Class 1 or Class 3 driver's license A valid Class 5 driver's license is required.

Requirements

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

Must currently reside in Canada

Valid driver's license

Relevant mechanical repair experience

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Commitment to safe, professional, quality workmanship
