Cumberland Home Hardware is Canada's new Home Hardware store, located in the beautifully restored historic Ilo-Ilo Theatre.

We're still in the exciting start-up phase, which means this is a varied, hands-on position. You'll help customers, merchandise and stock the sales floor, receive incoming orders, and help set up and maintain our outdoor garden centre and yard areas.

Our yard is not a traditional lumberyard. We do not sell lumber or construction materials. Our outdoor area is more like a garden centre and outdoor retail yard, with soils, garden products, seasonal merchandise and other products displayed outside.

We're looking for 2–3 people, with both full-time and part time opportunities available. Because the amount of outdoor work varies throughout the day and by season, this is a combined Floor Staff / Yard Associate position. You'll work wherever you're needed and will have plenty of variety in your day.

What You'll Be Doing

On the sales floor:

- Help customers find products and provide friendly customer service
- Stock, organize and merchandise products
- Receive and put away incoming inventory
- Keep shelves and sales areas clean and organized
- Learn our Point of Sale system and work on cash when required
- Assist with general store operations and other tasks as needed

In the yard and outdoor areas:

- Stock and organize soils, garden products and other outdoor merchandise
- Help maintain and merchandise our seasonal garden centre
- Load purchases for customers when required
- Help unload incoming orders and deliveries
- Keep the parking lot, sidewalks and outdoor areas clean and organized
- Shovel snow and keep entrances and walkways clear during winter weather
- Assist with local deliveries if qualified and able to do so





What we're looking for We're looking for people who are reliable, friendly, comfortable with physical work and willing to help wherever needed. You should be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors and able to lift and move merchandise safely.

Retail, hardware, garden centre, warehouse or similar experience is an asset but isn't required. A valid driver's license and experience operating a forklift or other material-handling equipment are also assets, but not requirements for every person we hire.

What We Offer

- Starting wage of $19.00–$22.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. The lower end of the range is appropriate for applicants with little or no related experience, while applicants with relevant experience, forklift qualifications and a clean driving record allowing them to make deliveries may qualify toward the upper end of the range.

Schedule
- Full-time and part-time positions available.
- 9 to 5:30 store hours.
- Weekday and weekend shifts.
