Role Description The Health Care Aide is a casual, on-site role based in Calgary, AB. This role focuses on supporting adukts and seniors in their homes with daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility assistance, and light housekeeping.
The Health Care
Aide provides companionship, monitors client well-being, and reports changes in condition to supervising nurses or care coordinators.
Responsibilities include following individualized care plans, assisting with protected transfers, supporting meal preparation and medication reminders (as permitted),
and documenting care activities after each visit. The role requires a commitment to compassionate, client-centered care and collaboration with families and the clinical team to maintain safety, dignity, and comfort.
Qualifications
- Must be registered with the CLHA in Alberta
- Ability to provide high-quality Home Care and Personal Care, including support with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and mobility.
- Strong Communication skills for interacting with clients, families, and clinical staff, and for documenting visits and changes in client status.
- Experience or training in Patient Care within home care, community care, or similar settings.
- Demonstrated reliability, empathy, and respect for client privacy and cultural differences.
- Required: Certification as a Health Care Aide, Personal Support Worker, or equivalent training.
- Preferred: Current CPR/First Aid certification and familiarity with basic infection control practices.
- Ability to work flexible part-time hours, including evenings or weekends as needed, and to travel to client homes within Calgary, AB. Class 5 license with a reliable vehicle as asset
