We are looking for a confident, outgoing, and highly organized Host to join our front-of-house team at one of Calgary’s most unique cocktail bars.

As the first and last point of contact for our guests, our Host plays an important role in creating the an unforgettable guest experience. We’re looking for someone who is warm and welcoming, but also confident enough to manage a busy door, organize reservations, communicate accurate wait times, and keep the restaurant flowing smoothly during high-volume evenings.

This is not simply a greeting position. The ideal candidate understands restaurant operations, can think quickly under pressure, and enjoys being at the centre of a quick-paced hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

· Warmly welcome and greet every guest entering Jungle Bird

· Manage reservations, walk-ins, waitlists, and table assignments

· Seat guests efficiently while maintaining proper guest rotation

· Monitor table times and communicate with servers and management to maximize restaurant flow

· Provide accurate wait-time estimates during busy periods

· Answer guest questions regarding reservations, events, menu offerings, and the venue

· Answer incoming phone calls professionally

· Assist with larger parties and special-event reservations

· Communicate guest requests, celebrations, allergies,



and other important information to the service team

· Maintain an organized and professional front entrance and host station

· Assist servers, runners, and management when necessary

· Handle busy periods calmly, confidently, and professionally

· Help ensure every guest receives an exceptional experience from arrival to departure

Skills

- Experienced in restaurants, bars, hospitality, or nightlife
- Friendly, energetic, and genuinely enjoys interacting with people
- Confident speaking with guests and managing difficult situations professionally
- Highly organized and able to multitask
- Comfortable working in a busy, high-volume environment
- A strong communicator
- Available evenings and weekends
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment while staying organized

Compensation · Compensation will START at $20 per hour.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a energetic team dedicated to delivering outstanding hospitality. We value professionalism, attentiveness, and a passion for service excellence. Please note, this is a part time position, great for somebody who already has an existing job and is looking for some extra hours in the week to make some more money and the tentative work schedule will be as follows:

Friday’s: 6 pm – 12 am

Saturday’s: 6 pm – 11 am

Sunday’s: 5 pm – 11 pm

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
