EnReach Hot Tap Services

Red Deer

At EnReach Hot Tap Services Inc., we specialize in hot tapping, line stopping, and pipeline isolation services for Western Canada's oil and gas industry. We've built our reputation by safely completing challenging projects with exceptional quality, technical expertise, and customer service.

We're looking for an experienced pipeline or industrial field professional who wants to take the next step in their career and develop into a specialized Hot Tap and Line Stop Technician.

This is not an entry-level position. We're looking for someone who already understands industrial field work, pipeline construction and maintenance, safe work practices, mechanical equipment, and the expectations of working on operating oil and gas facilities.

You don't need to already be an experienced hot tap or line stop technician—we'll provide the specialized training. You do need to bring a strong field foundation, mechanical ability, good judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to take on increasing responsibility as you demonstrate competency.

Our goal is to develop the successful candidate into a fully qualified EnReach Field Technician capable of eventually planning and executing specialized pipeline intervention projects.

What You'll Do

You'll work alongside experienced EnReach technicians while developing competency in our specialized equipment, procedures, and field execution.

Your responsibilities will include

- Participate in hot tapping, line stopping, pipeline isolation, and other specialty pipeline service projects.
- Set up and operate specialized hot tapping and line stopping equipment under the direction of a qualified EnReach technician.
- Install fittings, flanges, valves, and specialty pipeline equipment.
- Operate hydraulic torque equipment and other mechanical tooling.
- Perform and assist with hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure testing.
- Participate in pre-job planning, hazard assessments, toolbox meetings, and job readiness activities.
- Work closely with welders and NDE personnel during field execution.
- Verify equipment, tooling, materials, and documentation are ready before work begins.
- Complete required quality, safety, and project documentation accurately.
- Follow EnReach procedures, Quality Management System, and HSE requirements.
- Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot,

and prepare specialized equipment and tooling.
- Maintain trucks, trailers, equipment, and job sites in a clean, organized, and job-ready condition.
- Assist with mobilization, demobilization, loading, unloading, and site setup.
- Communicate professionally with customers, inspectors, contractors, and coworkers.
- Take on increasing responsibility for job planning and execution as competency is demonstrated.

What We're Looking For We're looking for someone with a strong industrial field background, ideally including:

- 3–5+ years of experience in pipeline construction, pipeline maintenance, oil and gas facilities, mechanical work, welding-related work, or similar industrial field operations.
- Good understanding of pipeline and facility construction and maintenance activities.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with tools and industrial equipment.
- Experience with flanges, valves, bolting, mechanical installations, or pipeline components.
- Familiarity with pressure testing and working around pressurized systems.
- General understanding of welding and NDE activities.
- Experience working under permits, procedures, hazard assessments, and established safe-work practices.
- Ability to read and understand drawings, procedures, work packages, and technical instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and an understanding that small details matter when working on pressurized pipeline systems.
- Positive judgment and the confidence to stop and ask questions when something doesn't look right.
- Ability to complete quality and safety documentation accurately.
- Comfortable using computers, Microsoft Office, and digital reporting systems.
- Skilled communication skills when dealing with customers, inspectors, and coworkers.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn from experienced technicians and other technical personnel.
- Dependable, punctual, organized, and willing to take ownership of assigned responsibilities.

- Willingness to work overtime and irregular hours when projects require it.
- Ability to travel throughout Western Canada and stay in hotels or camps for the duration of projects.
- Valid driver's licence with a clean driver's abstract.
- Current industry safety tickets are an asset.

Previous hot tapping or line stopping experience is an asset but is not required. Where This Position Can Lead

This position is intended to develop into a fully qualified EnReach Field Technician.

As you demonstrate competency, you'll progress from working under the direction of senior technicians to taking greater responsibility for:

- Specialized equipment operation
- Job preparation and planning
- Hot tap and line stop execution
- Quality documentation
- Field troubleshooting
- Coordinating field activities
- Customer communication
- Eventually leading EnReach field projects

Progression will be based on demonstrated competency—not simply time in the position. Why EnReach?

At EnReach, we don't cut corners. We invest in our people, equipment, technology, and processes because safety, quality, and customer service go hand in hand.

This is an opportunity to take an existing pipeline or industrial skill set and develop expertise in a highly specialized area of the industry.

You'll work alongside experienced technicians, engineers, welders, NDE personnel, and quality professionals while gaining hands-on experience with specialized pipeline intervention technology and challenging projects.

If you're already an experienced field professional but want to develop beyond traditional pipeline construction or maintenance and build a specialized technical career, we'd like to hear from you.
