The Healing on the Land Mentor role focuses on engaging with youth and families from a land-oriented perspective. You'll need a deep understanding of Indigenous culture and experience in providing support during times of grief. This term position emphasizes hands-on mentoring, while encouraging personal growth among youth, young adults, and their families.
Key Responsibilities: • Guide youth in land-based healing practices • Support traditional one-on-one counselling • Set up and maintain camps for activities • Teach survival skills like hunting and canoeing • Travel across various communities for outreach
Requirements: • Minimum 5 years of land-based living experience • Knowledge of Indigenous traditions and culture • Competence in interpersonal communication • Valid Driver's License and criminal background check • Experience with Edu-Therapy training preferred
