Luff Industries is currently accepting resumes for qualified Journeyman Industrial Mechanics (Millwrights) and experienced 3rd / 4th year Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Apprentices to join our team at our Rocky View, Alberta plant.

The Job:

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this role is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving a wide variety of production equipment and facility systems throughout the plant. The successful candidate will complete preventative maintenance activities, respond to equipment breakdowns, troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and equipment control issues, perform repairs, and support continuous improvement initiatives to ensure production uptime, reliability, and efficiency.

This role will also work closely with production, engineering, and maintenance team members to support new equipment installations, equipment upgrades, and facility maintenance activities.

This role is safety critical and requires the successful candidate to follow all our established safety protocols and procedures.

Your Daily Work will include:

- Working safely and keeping work areas clean and tidy at all times.
- Completing preventative maintenance as per the established PM schedule.
- Working with the rest of the maintenance team to complete larger scale maintenance and repair work.
- Providing support to other departments by responding to requests for broken down production equipment or equipment performance issues.
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, conveyor, and production equipment issues to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
- Inspecting, repairing, maintaining, and improving manufacturing equipment and facility systems.
- Installing, aligning, maintaining, and replacing bearings, gearboxes, motors, conveyors, pumps, and other industrial equipment.
- Reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, schematics,



equipment manuals, and technical documentation.
- Supporting equipment commissioning, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
- Fabricating parts and components using appropriate tools and techniques as required.
- Handling completed product and raw materials safely using a variety of manual and powered material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts.
- Any other tasks required for the success of the company.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on problem solver who enjoys troubleshooting equipment issues, identifying root causes of failures, and implementing long-term solutions that improve reliability, safety, and plant performance. They will continuously look for opportunities to improve equipment performance, maintenance processes, and overall workplace efficiency through new ideas and suggestions.

Applicants will also bring the following skills and experience:

- Journeyman Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) certification or enrollment in a recognized apprenticeship program.
- At least 3 years experience performing preventative and corrective maintenance in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Demonstrated ability to systematically troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and production equipment issues and identify root causes to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
- Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and repair experience involving manufacturing equipment, conveyor systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, rotating equipment, and automated production machinery.
- Experience with equipment installation, alignment, bearing replacement, and machinery maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings,



schematics, and technical manuals.
- Prior experience safely using overhead cranes.
- Prior experience operating rough terrain forklifts and other powered mobile equipment.
- Welding and fabrication experience would be considered a strong asset.
- Solid organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Compensation:

This is an hourly position with a starting Journeyman wage of $38.00 per hour. The hourly rate for apprentices will be based on education level completed and will follow Alberta Apprenticeship guidelines.

Final starting wage will be based on the successful applicant's combination of skills and experience, and future increases will be based on ongoing individual performance as part of our employee review and development program. Employees are eligible to participate in the company benefit program after 3 months of employment.
